IVANA CASTANEDA

Ivana Castaneda was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She moved to Texas, 10 years ago where she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.F.A. in Dance and a Business minor. She also attended to Booker T Washington High school for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas.

She has studied the disciplines of salsa, flamenco, modern, ballet, African dance, jazz,  hip hop, Ballroom, and others. She trained and competed professionally in salsa dancing as a soloist and in a group with Calirumba Salsa Dance Academy. She teaches Latin Fusion, salsa, bachata, acro, jazz funk, and more all over the Austin and Dallas area. And currently, she is the director, instructor and a choreographer at Connections Dance company where she teaches ballet, hip hop, acro, Latin Fusion and jazz.

My Latin Fusion classes consist of Latin rhythms with elements of salsa, reggaeton, mambo, rumba, bachata, jazz, samba, and more! A fun cardio warm-up will get you energized and offer a cardio component, followed by choreography teaching rhythm and technique.
